Scribe App design

In this case study, I will be discussing my role in the development of scribe, an application designed to update users on their favorite creatives. My responsibilities included creating the information architecture, UI design, UX, and branding. My main goal was to create an app that would provide users with a simple, enjoyable, and informative experience while staying on top of their favorite artists.

Identifying Pain Points

In my research stage, I identified that one of the main pain points for users was keeping up with their favorite artists. With the constant flow of content from various creatives, it can be challenging to stay updated with the latest releases and projects. While social media platforms like Instagram offer some relief, they are not always the best solution as they are filled with clutter and distractions. Users needed a separate app to keep them informed without any fluff and that's where scribe comes in.

Understanding User Needs

To make scribe a success, I needed to ensure that the app was simple, enjoyable, and informative. It needed to be user-friendly, making it easy for users to find their favorite creators, stay updated on their latest projects, and discover new ones they may have not heard about. We also wanted to ensure that users could enjoy using the app without feeling overwhelmed by notifications and updates.

Functions and Features

To achieve my goals, I included several features in scribe. The app offers notifications to stay updated on their favorite artists, recommends similar artists based on the user's feed. Users can also easily access trailers, music on Spotify, and other related content. The app also offers search functionality, making it easy for users to find their favorite artists and follow them with ease.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the development of scribe challenged my own skills and expertise in creating an easy to navigate interface. By identifying user pain points and understanding their needs, I was able to create a simple, enjoyable, and informative app.
